in any case, this is clarice! when they were alive, they were always kind of helpless--as a kitten, they lost their mom, and left wandering without really being able to take care of themself well. eventually, they were found by a friendly girl who promptly named them clarice, wrapped them in their lace handkerchief and took them home. later, at the vet, it would turn out they were full of fleas and worms, starved, and had a rapidly worsening eye infection. their eye was removed and replaced with a glass eye, but unfortunately, clarice wasn't strong enough to get better after that and died a little later.

even though they only lived with their owner a short while, she was super dear to clarice and they're glad they met! now a spookkat, clarice wears several bells to try and not get lost (which doesn't always work out). their gender is unknown--their owner named them before having them checked at the vet--but it doesn't really matter to clarice much anyway being already dead, so any pronouns are ok with them.
